Abstract
112,150. Smal, F. Dec. 15, 1916. Spray carburettors.-To prevent the float needle valve from being affected by variations of pressure in the float chamber, the valve 7 is extended as shown at 15 through the cover 12 of the float chamber, the diameter of the extension being equal to that of the passage 16 controlled by the valve. If the carburettor works under atmospheric pressure, the part 15 simply emerges into the atmosphere, but in cases in which the petrol tank is under pressure, the part 15 extends into a chamber 20 connected by a pipe 19 with the space above the petrol in the tank 17. The float chamber communicates with the induction pipe through apertures 10, 11 and conduit 9. The air inlet is controlled by a valve 13. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 16600/08.
