Spray carburettors; vaporizers,external.-Mixture from a spray carburettor passes over an exhaustheated multi-tubular vaporizer, the casing of which carries the choke-tube of the carburettor. The vaporizor 1 comprises horizontal tubes 9 carried by tube-plates 10, 11, which are held between the vaporizer casing and dome-shaped end covers 2, 3 provided with unions 4, 5 for coupling to the exhaust branch 6, the flow through which is controlled by a valve 8. Depending from the vaporizer casing is a tubular portion 14, which is provided with air-inlet ports 18 and choke-tube 15, and carries the fuel nozzle 16 and float chamber 22, the latter being secured by a union coupling 23. The nozzle 16 is provided with an interchangeable plug 17 containing the spraying-orifice. Additional air is admitted by an automatic valve 33, the load on which may be adjusted by the screw 36 and spring 38. Petrol for starting may be admitted through a pipe 39 provided with an air inlet hole 42.
