Abstract

113,433. Borel, J. L. A. Jan. 15, 1917, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-The fuel nozzle E, instead of discharging directly into the main carburetting chamber A, delivers fuel into an auxiliary chamber D which is opened to the atmosphere through a small passage d, and communicates at right angles with the main chamber A below the throttle valve B directly, and with the main chamber above the throttle valve through a pipe I of small crosssection. Air may be admitted by a suctionactuated valve C, to the chamber A at the junction of which with the chamber D is situated a perforated distributing and mixing ring F. The flow of fuel to the nozzle E is regulated by connecting the top of the float chamber G with the main carburetting chamber A by a pipe a which comprises a bell g enclosing a short length of pipe f above which is a non-return valve which lifts only when the vacuum in the chamber A has reached a predetermined value.
