Abstract

196,988. Schumm, G. Jan. 30, 1922. Spray carburettors.-Fuel is supplied to the main nozzle w, Fig. 2, through a, passage u from a collecting-chamber formed by a cross-channel m and spaces n, o surrounding the supports i, h to which fuel is fed from the float chamber through passages d, e, the slow-running nozzle z being fed by a passage v leading' from the space o. Air is supplied to the collecting-chamber through a passage s in the support l. In 'the modification shown in Fig. 3, the passage v supplying the slow-running nozzle leads from a chamber q provided in the carburettor casing between the spaces n, o, with one of which it communicates through a passage r. The chamber q is provided with an air inlet l. The main fuel nozzle consists of an annular channel x<3> connected by passages x<5>, annular channel x<2>, passages x<4>, and annular channel x<1>, with the passage u. Any fuel which condenses on the wall of the mixing-chamber flows back into the channel x' when the engine is stopped.
