Abstract
1,066,656. Spray carburetters. SOCIETE INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES S.I.B.E. Oct.18, 1965 [Nov.16, 1964], No.44063/65. Heading F1B. Mixture enrichment is provided by fuel supplied from the float chamber 4 through conduits 18, 19 via a suction actuated valve 21 to a jet 17 downstream of the choke valve 5. The height H of the jet 17 above the normal fuel level N is such that mixture enrichment occurs only at starting, when the choke valve is closed and the suction at jet 17 is therefore high, or at high speeds corresponding to nearly full load, when the air flow rate past jet 17 and therefore the suction thereat is high. As soon as the engine starts or as soon as the throttle 2 is closed at high engine speeds, the high suction downstream of the throttle acts on a diaphragm 23 to close the valve 21 whereupon mixture enrichment ceases. The carburetter may work in parallel during normal running conditions with a second carburetter having no choke valve, the first carburetter working alone during starting.
