Abstract

1,081,505. Spray carburetters. CLINTON ENGINES CORPORATION. March 23, 1966 [June 14, 1965], No. 12908/66. Heading F1B. Fuel from the float chamber passes through passages 46 to an annular chamber 48 and then through orifices 62 to a passage 60 in a needle valve 42, which control the fuel nozzle 40. The passage 60 communicates via a pipe 68 with a tube 70, which fills with fuel up to the level 22 maintained in the float chamber. For priming the engine at starting, manual operation of a bellows 72 forces this fuel through the passage 60 and the fuel nozzle 40 into the fuel-air mixture passage 14. The orifices 62 are small so that the tube 70 is refilled slowly, thus ensuring that repeated operation of the bellows does not flood the engine.
