Abstract
1,246,560. Spray carburetters. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES. Aug.4, 1969 [Aug.12, 1968], No.38882/69. Heading F1B. In a carburetter with a slow-running orifice 4 downstream of the throttle valve 2, one or more slow-running progression orifices 5 and an orifice 11 of a screw adjustable cross-section auxiliarly slow-running passage 12 supplied with air or mixture, are upstream of the throttle valve at its minimum-opening position and downstream of the valve when the valve is moved slightly from this position. The passage 12 is only operative when the throttle valve 2 is slightly open and therefore the richness of the mixture supplied by the carburetter can be independently adjusted for slowrunning at minimum throttle opening and accelerated slow running with the throttle opened slightly. The air inlet orifice 13 to the auxiliary passage 12 may communicate directly with the atmosphere rather than through the induction passage. A passage (15), Fig.2 (not shown), containing an adjusting screw (16) may convey fuel from a passage (19) and air from the induction passage inlet 6 to the auxiliary passage 12.
