Abstract

1493314 Spray carburetter SOC INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES 27 Feb 1975 [22 March 1974] 8306/75 Heading F1H A spray carburetter with a pair of coaxial Venturis 3, 6 in an induction pipe, wherein fuel is sucked into the inner Venturi 6 from a port 14, has a calibrated orifice plate 16 mounted upstream of the port. The constriction 17 in the orifice plate 16 has a smaller throughflow cross-sectional area than the narrowest throughflow cross-sectional area presented by the Venturi 6 downstream of the orifice plate. The orifice plate, which may be removable, has the effect of enriching the mixture at high engine speeds compared to a similar carburetter without such an orifice plate.
