Abstract

128,348. Witt, D. M. de. May 21, 1918. Spray carburettors.-In a spray carburettor, fuel is drawn into an annular chamber 4 surrounding the mixing-chamber 3 by suction transmitted through an aperture 18 on the engine side of the throttle valve 7 and controlled by a valve 17 actuated by a float 15 in the fuel. The mixing-chamber has an automatic air-inlet valve 11, and contains two nozzles 8, one discharging just above the normal fuel level, and the other at a higher level and coming into action at the higher speeds. An additional air control valve 6 is provided in the air-inlet chamber 1.
