Abstract

1,263,314. Spray carburetters. NISSAN MOTOR CO. Ltd. March 18, 1969 [March 23, 1968], No.14036/69. Heading F1B. In a carburetter, an air passage 21, Fig. 5, or 50, Fig. 7, communicating with the induction passage upstream of the throttle valve 12 or 43 and a passage 23 or 53 communicating with a source of mixture or liquid fuel are opened to a passage 22 or 51 communicating with the induction passage downstream of the throttle valve, by a control valve 29 when the vacuum downstream of the throttle valve exceeds a certain level. The passage 23, Fig. 5, communicates with a mixture passage in the idling system and the passage 53, Fig. 7, communicates with the main fuel passage 104. The control valve may comprise a solenoid-actuated needle (55), Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown), a diaphragm (60) subject to the intake manifold vacuum operating a switch (65, 66) in the solenoid circuit. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,140, 751.
