Abstract

1412531 Spray carburetters G HAMMERSCHMIED 4 Jan 1973 [14 Jan 1972 25 Oct 1972] 471/73 Heading F1B A screen 17 is located in the induction passage 7 upstream of the throttle valve 16 to assist mixing of fuel and air within the passage. The screen 17 has at least a major portion to one side of the passage axis and may be a flat or curved plate extending parallel to the axis. The curved plate may take various forms, Figs. 2 to 5 (not shown), and may be secured to a flange surrounding the outlet 9 of the main fuel nozzle 8. The screen 17 may be formed of perforated or expanded metal with the flow passages in the screen extending at acute angles to the main air-flow direction in the induction passage 7. Perforated hollow frustocones 27 and 28 may be located in the air intake of the carburetter. An accelerator nozzle 15 is provided.
