Abstract
1,239,285. Spray carburetters. TOYOTA JIDOSHA KOGYO K.K. Aug. 13, 1968 [Aug. 28, 1967], No. 38739/68. Heading F1B. In a carburetter having an idling passage 9 opening into the induction passage 2 downstream of the throttle valve 6, an additional passage 24, communicating with the induction passage upstream and downstream of the throttle valve, contains a valve 31 opened in dependence upon the vacuum downstream of the throttle and the idling passage is connected to the additional passage upsteam of the valve 31. The valve 31 is arranged to open at over-running. The additional passage 24 may communicate with the induction passage 2 through a pipe (21<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 2 (not shown), projecting into the passage. A switch (41), Fig. 3 (not shown), closed by a diaphragm subject to the vacuum in the induction manifold (40) may operate the valve (31<SP>1</SP>) in the additional passage (24) by means of a solenoid (44). In this embodiment the additional passage (24) connects to the carburetter air filter (52).
