Abstract

1,271,985. Spray carburetters. NISSAN MOTOR CO. Ltd. March 18, 1969 [March 23, 1968], No. 14035/69. Heading F1B. In an intake system including a variable choke carburetter 10, a mixture by-pass 19, 20 with an inlet 21 between the choke 14 and the throttle 11 and an outlet 22 at the intake manifold 18 has a control valve, Fig. 3, which opens the by-pass on deceleration. The spring-biased valve member 30 is connected to a diaphragm subject to the intake manifold vacuum in chamber 34 and atmospheric pressure in chamber 35. The orifice 24 in the upstream portion of the by-pass 19, 20 meters the flow through the by-pass to provide a vacuum of about 600 m. m. Hg during deceleration. The by-pass may be controlled by a solenoid actuated valve (39), Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), a diaphragm (44) actuating a switch (48, 49) in the solenoid circuit on deceleration. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1, 140, 751.
