Abstract

1,151,998. Spray carburetters. BENDIX CORP. Aug.24, 1966 [Sept.13, 1965], No. 37990/66. Heading F1B. The float chamber of a constant suction type carburetter is vented to the induction pipe 13 by tubes 44, 46, with upstream and downstream facing inlets 47, 49, valves 48, 50, being operable to open and close the tubes to enrich or weaken the mixture. The valves 48, 50, are interconnected so that one valve is open when the other is closed. Valve 50 may be open and valve 48 closed for partial throttle openings a lever (56, Fig.2 not shown) contacting linkage (58) to close valve 50 and open valve 48 at full throttle to enrich the mixture. Alternatively the valves may be controlled by a piston actuated by intake manifold suction.
