Abstract

1289336 Spray carburetters MIKUNI KOGYO CO Ltd 21 Oct 1969 [22 Oct 1968] 51494/69 Heading F1B In a constant-vacuum carburetter, a secondary fuel supply for enriching the mixture passed from the float chamber 24 via a jet 41, a valve 47, a chamber 54 and a passage 48 to a discharge port 49 located between the main fuel nozzle 16 and the throttle valve 12. The valve 47 is open at large openings of the throttle valve 12 to provide mixture enrichment but is closed at small openings of the throttle valve by the differential pressure across the diaphragm 43. An air bleed may be provided midway in the passage 48 to atomize the secondary fuel. An idling fuel supply is provided via a bypass passage 32 and ports 33, 34, the port 33 having an adjusting screw 35. In another embodiment the secondary fuel valve is operated mechanically by linkage connecting it to the throttle valve 12. In this case the secondary fuel discharge port may be disposed further from the main jet and nearer the throttle valve.
