Abstract

1,236,062. Fuel injection systems. GILLETT TOOL CO., Inc. Aug.27, 1968, No.40984/68. Heading F1B. Electromagnetically operated fuel injectors 2, Figs. 2 and 3, are adjustably mounted in an intake manifold by a resilient sphere 32 mounted in a socket 30 secured in the manifold wall. The fuel pipe 11 leading to the injector 2 passes through the sphere 32 and the socket 30 and tightening screw 31 are formed with diverging bores 30a, 31a, to allow adjustment of the position of the injector. A solenoid coil 15 in the injector 2 is fed with electronic pulses adjusted in accordance with engine operating conditions such as engine temperature, manifold temperature suction, engine speed, throttle position and barometric pressure. The solenoid lifts a flap valve 26 off a said seat 25 surrounding a control injection orifice 23, orifices 13a, 26a, permitting free movement of the valve.
