Abstract

1413806 Spray carburetters INDUSTRIA NAZIONALE CARBURATOR DELL 'ORTO SpA 9 Nov 1972 [19 Nov 1971] 51816/72 Heading F1B A carburetter for a motor cycle engine comprises a throttle valve 1 mounted for movement in a direction at right angles to the induction pipe 2, there being a diaphragm accelerating pump P mounted adjacent the throttle valve 1 and actuated by way of a lever 13 pivoted on the carburetter by a cam profile 12 formed on the throttle valve 1. The throttle valve may be flat or cylindrical. The lever 13, when moved to the left, acts on diaphragm 18 to force fuel from a chamber 19 to a jet 28 via a spring-loaded valve (26), Fig. 2 (not shown). When lever 13 returns to the right, diaphragm 18 follows and draws more fuel into chamber 19 via valve (23) (Fig. 2). The jet 28 directs fuel across the induction pipe 2. Set screw 20 enables the amount of fuel which can be drawn into chamber 19 to be determined.
