Abstract

1,177,268. Carburetters. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. May 16, 1967 [Aug.31, 1966], No.22630/67. Heading F1B. In a carburetter, a valve member 72 that determines the size of a fuel metering jet 66 is moved so that the size of the jet is smaller at part engine loads than when the engine is either operating at maximum power or is idling as shown the position of the valve member 72 is controlled by the pressure in a port 88 immediately upstream and closely adjacent to the throttle valve 24 an emulsifier tube 36 is located in an extension 33 connecting the fuel well 32 to the Venturi. The valve controlled metering jet may be used in combination with another jet such jet may be in parallel with the jet 66.
