Abstract

145,957. Addyman, E. T. W. June 4, 1919. Spray carburettors.- In a carburettor having a combined choke tube and throttle valve a concentric with and rotatable about the fuel nozzle. a cavity b is formed in an extension of the choke tube, and air is admitted to the cavity by an automatic valve c. The cavity communicates directly with the choke tube through a passage h. The valve seat is formed by a ring e, and the valve may be in the form of a plate spring attached to the ring e or to the extension f. The stem of the valve may project outwardly. Air only may be admitted to the outlet passage m by a hole, or a slot in the periphery of the throttle a situated midway between the ends of the choke tube. The ring e may be secured by screwing, springing, riveting, by a bayonet-joint or by a spring clip as described in Specification 136,405. The carburettor is easily dismantled.
