Abstract

234,945. Everist, C. T., and Sieber, J. March 31, 1924. Spray carburettors.-In a carburettor in which the fuel is atomized by a suction-actuated fan 14, water is admitted between the fan and the throttle valve 6 by a spring-loaded suction-actuated valve 16. The orifice 34 of the fuel nozzle 33 is situated so that the fuel is projected on to the fan, and the fuel supply is controlled by a manually-operated cut-off valve 44, and by a spring-loaded needle valve 41 opened by a cam 38. The cam 38, throttle valve 6, and air valve 4 are interconnected by arms and adjustable links for simultaneous operation. Acetylene may be used instead of liquid fuel.
