Abstract

452,377. Spray carburetters. ARNOLD, R., 6, Schloss-Strasse, Dresden, Germany. Feb. 20, 1935, No. 5464. Convention date, March 10, 1934. [Class 7 (iii)] In a downdraught carburetter, a member 19 disposed in the air passage to divide the stream into several passages, is formed with curved inlet and outlet surfaces and provides concentric passages 20, 21, the air flowing through the outer one impinging on the curved top surface 23 of a Venturi 22 which deflects it on to the fuel nozzle 4. The member 19 is adjustable in the air passage and may itself be formed to deflect the outer air currents inwards. A cam 16 on the air inlet valve spindle controls a fuel valve 12.
