Abstract
210,995. Ducamp, A. J. Feb. 16, 1923. Spray carburettors. -A fuel-nozzle c opening into a choke-tube d, has a submerged restriction a; at slowengine speed, fuel passing through passages h, a is aerated at holes g in the nozzle c, which communicate with the atmosphere by annular passages f<1>, f and holes e, e<1>; at high speed, fuel is first aerated ab i by air entering through the passage h and aerated a second time at g. The passages h, a may have restrictions l, k of Venturi shape. The position of the entrance to the passage h may be lower down the fuel duct than that shown. In a modification the passage f<1> communicates with the atmosphere by a passage through the base of the carburettor instead of bv the holes e, e<1>.
