Abstract
213,235. Ducamp, A. J. March 23, 1923, [Convention date]. Addition to 210,995 and 212,246. Spray carburettors. -The parent Specification describes a carburettor comprising a main jet of comparatively large bore opening freely into the choke tube and having a single calibrated constriction or nozzle at a point below the fuel level, and a tube of larger diameter than said jet arranged coaxially therewith, said tube being freely open to the atmosphere at one end but closed at the other end with the exception of a calibrated aperture or compensating passage piercing the wall of said jet at a point below the calibrated constriction or nozzle and one or more small apertures piercing the wall of said jet above said constriction. The invention consists (1) in forming the calibrated aperture h in a member v separate from and below the tube c in which the constriction a is formed, such member v containing also a passage w in line with the constriction a; (2) in extending the main jet tube c by an integral or separate part x to such an extent that it touches the cone formed by the axes of the air passages t described in Specification 212,246. The effect of these modifications is that air is admitted through passage h to the entrance of passage w only at high speeds, overflow from the nozzle is prevented and the emulsion issuing from the tube c is brought more effectively under the action of the air through passages t.
