Abstract

Spray carburettors. - A transversely adjustable sliding throttle valve b is placed at a constricted portion of the main air passage a and, in its opening movement, is adapted to uncover a number of fuel orifices in a tube c placed diametrically across the air passage immediately in front of the throttle valve. The fuel orifices may be supplied through a restricted -orifice d to the space above which air may be admitted at e. The nozzle d may be submerged and the fuel orifices may be replaced by a slit. The throttle valve is of such a form that, in its fully open position, it does not interfere with the stream line or other internal form of the air passage.
