Abstract

18,818. Brown, C., and Brown & Barlow. Aug. 19 Spray carburettors.-The induction passage a is controlled by a throttle valve b of the rotary or sliding type, a rotary barrel with tapered passage being shown, which is situated at the engine side of the fuel nozzle c. The nozzle is placed on that side of the induction passage towards which the control edge of the throttle valve moves in closing, and at such a distance from the throttle valve that, while the nozzle remains in the draught created as the throttle closes, it is sufficiently removed to avoid the formation of an excessively rich mixture. The nozzle is controlledby a needle valve d actuated from a distance through a Bowden wire e, and the throttle valve b may be similarly actuated by independent means.
