Abstract
5974. Cox, A. March 11. [Addition to 7171/12.] Spray carburettors.-In carburettors as claimed in the parent case, the jet tube is so arranged with respect to the choke-tube d of the air-regulating valve-sleeve a that in all positions of the latter the jet orifice e<2> is situated above or on the engine side of the construction of the choke-tube, the carburettor being devoid of any form of throttle-valve on the engine side of the choke-tube. The air-inlet ports c may be of the form shown in Fig. 1, or they may be triangular or V-shaped. The airregulating valve-sleeve a carries the fuel-regulating needle f and may be operated by means of an arm or lever j<2> which extends through a helical slot j<1> in the casing. The fuel needle f is screw-threaded at its upper end and is secured to a bridge-piece on the sleeve a by means of a lock-nut, whereby a preliminary adjustment of the fuel needle can be obtained.
