Abstract
27,636. Brown, C., and Brown & Barlow. Nov. 27. Spray carburettors.-A fuel orifice b<1>, Fig. 1, in the side of the nozzle B is controlled by a helical edge at the upper extremity of the sleeve A. The nozzle is kept oil-tight by a flange b<3>, spring g, and gland f, and is rotated by a handle c. A nozzle of this type may be used in a carburettor such as that described in Specification 26,178/08, in which the primary air mixture and extra air are simultaneously controlled. In a modification shown in Fig. 6, the orifice is controlled by a sliding sleeve P actuated by a lever Q through inclined faces q<1>, q<2>. To vary the relative proportions of air and fuel, the sleeve may be moved relativelyto the lever Q and retained in the desired position by a stud r entering holes or a curved slot in the sleeve P.
