Control Of Throttle Valves Provided In The Intake System Or In The Exhaust System
(AREA)
Abstract
4381. Robinson, H. W., and Nicholson, A. H. Feb. 21. Spray carburettors in which the primary air, secondary air, and fuel valves are simultaneously actuated are provided with a device actuated by the throttle valve, which, when the throttle is fully opened, opens freely all three valves. The secondary-air valve d is connected by a lever g to a fuel-valve i, which carries on its stem h the primary-air valve consisting of ported sleeve n working over the fuelnozzle. The throttle c carries an arm q which, when the throttle is fully open, engages the lever g and moves it in the direction to open the valves d, i, l. Mixing is facilitated by a number of slots p in the primary-air pipe.
