Abstract
24,488. Daimler-Motoren Ges. Dec. 22, 1913, [Convention date]. Actuating.-The supplementary-air valve of a carburettor for an internal-combustion engine is actuated by the throttle valve through a yielding cnnnexion in such a manner that, when the throttle is opened, the air valve is at first closed, but is subsequently opened again by a spring. The air valve g is fixed to a sleeve f, which is adapted to slide over a rod a and within a cylinder c connected to the throttle valve b. This cylinder communicates with the atmosphere through a small passage d, As the throttle is opened, air compressed in the cylinder c acts upon the sleeve f and closes the valve g. Subsequently, however, a spring h opens the valve g without affecting the position of the throttle valve.
