Abstract
5617. Hawes, C., and Headon, A. March 5. Fluid governors.-The fuel valve of a carburettor is normally opened and is closed on an increase of engine suction. The lever g rotates the throttle valve f above which a chamber i is formed which contains a diaphragm or piston k, the under surface of which is connected through a passage s with the engine side of the throttle valve. The piston k actuates, through a rod l, the fuel-valve m, which is normally kept open by a spring u. Fuel is supplied through a passage v which may be controlled by the screwed plug q. A stop r may prevent the valve from closing completely. and a second stop x limits its upward movement.
