Abstract
12,204. Hawxhurst, J. J., and Nicolai, E. F. May 26. Lift valves.-The outlet from the carburettor chamber 42 is controlled by valves 64, 65, 66 seated one on the back of another. The valves are opened in succession by pushing inwards the valve 44, which strikes in succession the stems 69, 70, 71 of the valves 64, 65, 66 respectively. The air-inlet valves 26, 60 are made concave on their outer surfaces to prevent hissing noises.
