Check lift valves.-The mixing chamber of a carburettor is provided with a suction-actuated air valve 133 loaded by a spring 137 and adapted to be opened by suction. The load on the valve may be adjusted by a screwed rod 143 which acts, through a spring 142, upon a lever 139 which bears against pins 138 rigidly attached. to the valve.
