Abstract

27,917. Buckney, T. W. Nov. 30. Combinations of interdependent valves.-In a carburettor for internal combustion engines the air valve 10 is resiliently interconnected with the fuel valve 3 through a toothed sector and pinion, a quadrant, and two springs. The sector is loose on the spindle 11, and drives the spindle through the two springs, which press on the quadrant. With this construction, the fuel valve may be closed after the air valve 10 has been fully opened so as to admit air only to the cylinders; also the fuel valve 3 may be partly rotated after the air valve 10 has reached its closed position.
