Abstract

201,967. Moore, R., Parsons, P. P., Stainton, A. V., and Parmor Carburetters, Ltd. April 4, 1922. Spray carburettors. - Rich mixture formed adjacent a submerged nozzle in the lower part of a cross-shaped casing 1 passes to the induction pipe through a passage 2, and the supply is controlled by a sliding throttle valve 10 operated by a Bowden wire 16; the main air supply is controlled bv a valve at the outer end of a branch passage 3. This valve may either be a butterfly valve 5, as shown, which is controlled by a lever 8 and Bowden wire 9 passing through a slot in the throttle valve, or a rotary hit-and-miss valve. A small slot 14 allows mixture to pass when the throttle valve is closed. A closable by-pass for air for scavenging may be provided in the passage 2.
