Abstract
169,194. Brown, C., and Brown & Barlow, Ltd. July 3, 1920. Spray carburettors.- In a pilot device a fuel nozzle b delivers into barrel a always in communication with the main air passage g through ports e, f. The barrel also has a port d in line with an air port i in the casing. For starting, the barrel is turned to close the port i and fuel only is delivered by the device ; for slow running the ports d and i are brough into register and mixture is supplied. The size of the air inlet is adjusted permanently by the screw j held in position by a spring l. The barrel is held in place by a spring g placed under an abutment k, and is turned by a handle p. The barrel may be split near its top to grip the screw j. A groove n is made in the barrel and is in communication with the air, to prevent leakage of petrol. The device is described as applied to a carburettor as set out in Specification 160,215.
