Abstract

540,140. Spray carburetters. SENTINEL WAGGON WORKS (1936), Ltd., ALLEY, S. E., and RICHARDSON, L. S. April S, 1940, No. 6137. [Class 7 (iii)] In a carburetter adapted for running the engine on gas after starting with petrol, the gas is admitted through a side conduit 18 controlled by a throttler and opening into a chamber 10, to which air from the intake 13 of the petrol carburetter 11 is admitted past a controlling needle 41, the mixture passing to the engine by a conduit 25 with throttle 26. When running on gas is desired, the petrol tap is turned off and the throttle in the gas conduit 18 is opened. The air throttle 15 is locked in the fully-open position.
