473,597. Cylinders; pumps. FLETCHER, A. H. CUDDON-. March 17, 1936, No. 7947. [Class 7 (ii)] An induction system comprises two manifolds 6, 7, located on opposite sides of the cylinders 8 and connected at 10, outside a supplementary throttle valve 9 in one of the manifolds. The velocity of flow of the combustible mixture, or air, is increased at low speed by closing the valve 9, which can be effected automatically by connection with the main throttle valve, or the carburetter choke, or by a thermal device. As shown, separate carburetters 2, 3 and pumps 4, 5 are used, but the manifolds may be supplied by a single carburetter and pump.
