Abstract

476,214. Extra-air admission devices. MAHLER, R., and LUBINSKY, A. Feb. 17, 1937, No. 4803. [Class 7 (ii)] Extra air is admitted through an annular chamber 8 and holes 7 into a bore 3 in a flangeshaped fitting 1 clamped between the carburetter and the induction pipe. To assist vaporization two or more screens 6 are provided on the. carburetter side of the holes 7 and to prevent damage due to backfiring one or more screens are provided on the opposite side of the holes 7. The quantity of extra air admitted is controlled by a conical valve 9 actuated independently of or simultaneously with the throttle valve.
