Abstract

417,599. Vaporizers. SCHILLING, K., Hofgut Bergen, near Frankfort - on - Main, Germany. April 3, 1933, Nos. 9991 and 9992. Convention dates, Aug. 31, 1932 and Sept. 7, 1932. Addition to 412,928. Drawings to Specification. [Class 7 (iii).] In the vaporizer described in the parent Specification and comprising a heavy oil carburetter connected to a pipe lying wholly within a casing and having a straight portion opposite the cylinder outlets, the other end of the pipe being connected directly, or substantially so, to the induction manifold, and a carburetter for light fuel being connected to the pipe adjacent the inlet of the induction manifold, the oil carburetter is cooled either by placing it in the air stream of the radiator cooling fan and providing it with fins or by providing it with a water jacket connected to the water cooling system. The oil throttle is arranged to close tightly and the petrol carburetter is provided with a pilot jet or byepass so that a supply of petrol mixture is ensured whenever the oil throttle is closed; under normal running conditions the suction on the pilot jet is insufficient to cause any appreciable waste of fuel.
