Abstract
434,839. Vaporizers. WILSON, N., General Garage & Motor Works, Elizabeth Street, Elland, Yorkshire. June 1, 1934, No. 16332. [Class 7 (iii)] In a casing a, divided into two parts by a partition a<3>, exhaust gases entering at a<1> pass through tubes a<6>, a<7> to heat mixture on its way to the inlet manifold f and from the casing a the gases pass to a second casing b where, in traversing a corrugated tube b<1> they heat air entering through a hit-and-miss valve b<4>. As shown, a valve c<1> may admit cold air directly to the carburetter d when a two-way valve e is supplying it with light fuel, but separate carburetters may be used for light and heavy fuels. In a modification, the partition a<3> is omitted and in the second casing the exhaust gases flow around tubes through which the air is drawn. The change-over from light to heavy fuel may be controlled thermostatically. Specification 5125/08, [Class 7], is referred to.
