Abstract

106,300. Serex, C. E. May 3, 1916. Spray carburettors.-A rotatable tubular throttle valve 2 controls the air inlet 14 and mixture outlet 15 and is provided with a cam surface 9 which actuates a fuel needle valve 4 through a lever 7 mounted on an adjustable eccentric bearing 8. The needle valve controls the flow of fuel to orifices 11 which are situated where the air velocity is a maximum. In a modified construction, the air inlet is coaxial with the throttle, the mixture outlet only being controlled. In a further modification, the cam is hinged to the throttle, is loaded by a spring, and is provided at its closing end with an inclined plane which ensures complete closure of the nozzle.
