Abstract
200,994. Soc. du Carburateur Zenith, and Dykes, W. U. June 9, 1922. Spray carburettors.-An air tube 1 of cylindrical shape internally, encloses a central fixed solid 2 of such shape that the areas of successive cross-sections of the passage between the solid and tube are at first successively decreasing and afterwards successively increasing in stream line fashion, fuel or an emulsion of fuel and air being admitted through orifices either in the tube as at 4, Fig. 3, or in the body as at 4, Fig. 4. The tube 1 may enter the constricted portion of a Venturi tube such as 6. Fig. 7, or may enter a cylindrical tube 7, Fig. 6, containing an annular solid 8 adapted to produce gradually decreasing and increasing passages. In a further modification Fig. 7, the solid 2 has a central Venturi passage 9 therethrough into which fuel may be delivered by a tube 10 in addition to that fed through the holes 4 in the tube 1. The tube containing the solid may open into another tube or Venturi passage at right angles thereto.
