Spray carburettors.-Annular members 5, 6, 7 are located in the casing 3 so as to form a choke tube for the main air supply entering at 8. The members 5 and 7 are separated from the central member 6 by distance pieces 13 so as to leave annular channels 14. 15 which, in the form shown in Fig. 1, converge and meet at the most constricted part of the choke tube. Surrounding the channels 14, 15 are distributing channels 11, 12 which are formed in the casing 3. The channel 11 communicates with the float chamber 2 through ducts 16, 17, 19 and nozzle 18, and the channel 12 communicates with the chamber through a conduit 21. The duct 16 and channel 14 may also communicate with the air inlet through a valve-controlled aperture 22. With this construction, fuel or a mixture of fuel and air may pass through the channel 14 and meet a current of air through the channel 15, the cunents being discharged directly into the main air stream. In a modification, Fig. 3, the central member 6 is of uniform width and the channels 14 and 15 are parallel and radial. In a further modification, the channels are partly convergent and partly parallel. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the distance pieces 13 may be adjustable or exchangeable and that the distributing chambers form reservoirs which facilitate starting and acceleration. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
