Abstract

252,723. Jõderlund, J. May 29, 1925, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors. - A rotatable ported valve controls simultaneously a number of air inlet ports and a number of fuel orifices, the latter discharging directly into the air ports in the control valve so that the fuel enters the air stream where it has its highest velocity, all the fuel orifices being controlled simultaneously and gradually. The casing 1 has a removable cover 2 adapted to be connected to the induction pipe by a flange 3. Into the lower end of the casing is inserted a sleeve 4 and into this again a cap 6 having air-inlet ports 7 and serving as a bearing for a rotatable valve 8 with ports 9 corresponding to the ports 7. The valve is actuated by an arm 11 and is pressed by a spring 12 against the upper end of the sleeve 4 at which fuel passages 15 terminate in tapered grooves 16, Fig. 4. These passages are fed from the float chamber 13 and fine holes 14 and communicate through holes 19 with a chamber 20 to which air may be admitted by a manuallyactuated disc valve. The ports 9 in the valve 8 control simultaneously the air ports 7 and the fuel grooves 16.
