Abstract
377,945. Spray carburetters. LAVERGNE, J., 50, Quai National, Puteaux, Seine, France. Jan. 28, 1931, No. 2825. Convention date, Feb. 24, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 7 (iii).] Rich mixture is delivered through a number of flared outlets such as 15, 16 into a number of air passages such as 3, 4 the flow through which is controlled by valves 7, 8 adapted to be actuated in succession. The outlets 15, 16 are supplied through tubes 9, 10 which receive fuel through nozzles 13, 14, Fig. 2, and air through tubes 11, 12, Fig. 3. Fuel is supplied from the float chamber 1, Fig. 1, through duct 36, Figs. 1 and 3. An arm 22, Fig. 4, is keyed to another arm 23 which, through a spring 24, is adapted to actuate a plate 25 on the spindle of the valve 7. After a predetermined opening movement, the arm 23 engages 'a roller 27 on'a plate 26 secured to the spindle of valve 8. A slow-speed nozzle 17, Fig. 2, is supplied with fuel through a nozzle 33, and with air from a tube 6 having normal inlets at 28, 29, the latter being capable of being closed from a distance to give a rich starting mixture. The tube is also provided with a large inlet 30 adapted to be closed during starting by a valve 31 carried by the plate 25. The mixing chamber 5 is curved, and is heated by a jacket 18 the flow in which is opposite to that of the mixture. Mixing is facilitated by a gauze cone 21 arranged as shown in Fig. 1, or in the reverse direction.
