Spray-carburettors.-Fuel is supplied from a nozzle 3 dipping into a float chamber 4 to a primary air-admission conduit 2, the rich mixture passing through apertures 17 in the throat of a choke tube 16 into the main air conduit 1. The conduit 1 may be provided with an air valve 18 and a throttle valve 7. The nozzle 3 may be provided near its upper end with air-inlet apertures, and a slow-running nozzle may be provided. The choke tube 16 may be spaced from the wall of the conduit 1 leaving an annular passage through which passes part of the main air supply and of the rich mixture from the conduit 2, the conduit 1 being provided with an enlargement immediately beyond the choke tube. The fuel inlet 10 to the float chamber 4 is controlled by a valve 11 actuated by a float. 12.
