Abstract
343,109. Spray carburetters. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Oct. 10, 1929, No. 30715. Convention date, Oct. 26, 1928. [Class 7 (iii).] The carburetter comprises a main air-suction pipe a, an air throttle c and a mixture throttle b therein, and an auxiliary choke tube e extending radially of a main choke tube d between the air and mixture throttles, the fuel nozzle discharging into the throat of the auxiliary choke tube, and the float-chamber air-space being connected by a pipe g to a point of the auxiliary tube where a lower vacuum exists. A valve i mounted on the air throttle c controls the inlet of the auxiliary choke tube in accordance with the main air opening. In a modification, Fig. 2, the fuel nozzle discharges into an additional auxiliary choke tube k coaxial with the tube e with which the pipe g again communicates, but it may communicate with the tube k. A valve l on the mixture throttle b keeps the aperture of the auxiliary choke tube closed up to a predetermined opening of the throttle. Fuel for slow running is supplied through the device m, n. The fuel flow may be controlled by admitting air to the fuel conduit from a choke tube p, Fig. 2, or as a modification, by a valve in the fuel pipe connected to the air throttle c.
