Abstract

293,179. Overaasen, E. J. June 7, 1927. Spray carburettors. - The fuel nozzle comprises a perforated tube 13, Fig. 3, extending across the choke tube 6 and mounted in a bore 15 in the carburettor body, the bore 15 being provided with an air inlet 17 and communicating with an annular chamber 29 which is supplied with fuel from the float chamber through a conduit 21, an orifice 26 controlled by a needle valve 24, and orifices 28 in a tube 22 to which air is admitted through orifices 27. Fuel for slow-running is supplied to the outlet passage adjacent the throttle valve through an orifice 7. Fig. 4, which communicates through a conduit 8 and passages 36, 32 in a plug 30 with a conduit 11 connected to the float chamber, air being admitted to the passage 32 by a needle valve 33. The air inlet to the choke tube 6 is controlled by a butterfly valve.
