Abstract
269,169. La Cruz, A. P. de. April 7, 1926, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors. - In a carburettor comprising a number of air passages each provided with a fuel inlet and opening into a common chamber connected to the induction pipe, the air passages are formed in a cylindrical block with the delivery orifices arranged in two or more series which deliver in different planes and are controlled by a pivoted rotatable cap. As shown in Fig. 2, the air passages 1 are arranged in a circle in a block 1<a> and are each provided with a fuel inlet 6<c> communicating through a passage 6<b> with an annular float chamber 6. The air inlet ends of the passages are controlled simultaneously by a ported rotatable plate 7 operated bv a lever 8. The outlet, ends of the passages, which are arranged in two series, one opening upon the upper face of the block 1a and the other upon the side of the block, are controlled by a rotatable slide 9 operated by a lever 11 through a rod 10, the slide being provided with ports 9a, 9b arranged to uncover one of the outlets of one series when an outlet of the other series has just been fully opened. Below the outlets the block is provided with a screw-threaded portion to which is connected a union leading to the induction pipe. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the outlets 12 of the air passages 1 open upon the side of the block in two series at different levels and are controlled by a ported sleeve 13, fuel being supplied thereto through narrow passages 16 in a central stem 15. The passages 1 are open to the atmosphere at both ends, the upper ends being simultaneously controlled by a ported cap 17. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a modification in which the deliverv orifices are arranged in one plane and are controlled by a ported slide. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
