4438. Drayton, T. J. B., and Woodroffe, F. K. Feb. 22. Spray carburettors.-The flow of fuel from the nozzle 8 into the primary-air passage 2 is varied simultaneously with the supply of secondary air past the suction-actuated valve 4, the fuel and air valves being adjustably connected. Around the valve 4 is a cone 5, which is vertically adjusted either automatically or by hand according to the temperature of the air, so that a fixed weight of air is admitted whatever its temperature corresponding to the position of the valve 4. A throttle valve 3 can close the mixture and secondary-air outlets and open a by-pass 52. The passage 2 is surrounded by an exhaust or water jacket 2*. Gauze screens 23 are fitted to the air inlets. The cone 5 may be suction-actuated and the valve 4 adjusted according to the temperature:
